Turkish Food and Beverage Retail Chain is about to expand to the USA

Turkish food & beverage retail chain Simit Sarayi was at MAPIC 2013 to present their international growth and expansion plans to potential partners.

“We met lots of people. People tasted our products and they liked them (…) Of course, we met lots of people from the Middle East, from Europe and from the United States. MAPIC is a meeting area for all retail sectors, and also development sectors. We are expanding to the world and we are looking for available space and also for advice and consultancy,” commented Esma Tuncer.

The retail chain Simit Sarayi started in 2002 as a single store selling fresh bakery products with the traditional Turkish flavour ‘simit’. Now the brand produces about 60 different products in the range, with 5.500 employees worldwide and a retail chain of 280 stores in Turkey and in other countries ( Belgium, Germany, the Netherlands, Saudi Arabia, Egypt and Kuwait). They aim to become a worldwide brand and are actively seeking to expand abroad and bring their special Turkish ‘flavour’ to the UK and the USA.
