MAPIC 2011: All the live coverage you could ever want, in one easy blog post!

We had a great turnout and some fascinating speakers at this year’s MAPIC. Find out more!

This year’s MAPIC was bigger and better than ever, with crowds of over 8,000 packing the aisles of the Palais des Festivals in Cannes.

We had a star-studded lineup of keynote speakers, including Marks & Spencer International Director Jan HeereGeox CEO Mario Moretti Polegato, Kate Ancketill, CEO of GDR Creative Intelligence, and Terry Green, Non-executive Director of Qmatic Group. They shared their vision and insight for the future of the retail property market with a rapt audience.

One special offering at this year’s event was a real-time link up conference with MIPIM Asia attendees in Hong Kong. The two conferences coincided with one another, and participants were able to communicate the most innovative ideas and information with each other during the real-time link-up session.

Our MAPIC coverage also included interviews with Eddy Jimenez, Vice President of International Development & Logistics at Kahala, as we shadowed him through the MAPIC Speed Matching. Featuring a select group of handpicked retailers and developers, our Speed Matching session gave nominees seven minutes to present their projects before linking up with partners during a networking session. Jimenez was third to the podium, and left the audience wanting more after speaking about his group’s delicious high-quality ice cream parlour chain, Cold Stone Creamery.

We also took a closer look our favourite stands and intriguing events with a light-hearted look behind the scenes on Tuesday, WednesdayThursday and Friday. From tiramisu and half-naked men to the ultra-prestigious MAPIC awards, we were there for every action-packed moment!
