Brampton: Looking for a 4-star hotel aside “Mobility Hub”
City of Brampton in Ontario will be over 800,000 people by 2031 – and Downtown Brampton is the perfect place to offer new social, cultural, and tourist opportunities for residents and visitors.
The city is looking for a nationally or internationally branded 4-star hotel in downtown, featuring a full range of accommodation services (300-room hotel and 30,000-square-foot convention/exhibition centre with meeting/conference rooms and a ballroom facility, fitness centre, indoor pool, restaurant(s) and retail.) on the 5.2-acre parking lot of the GO Train station on Church Street WestEstimated by the consultant for the project should cost about $75 million, it would be a private/public investment, with the city acting as a go-between.
Downtown Brampton is also well serviced by a Go Train & Bus terminal, recently designated as a “Mobility Hub” by Metrolinx, with the intent of fostering intensification in the area. The facility provides a direct link to Union Station for daily commuters, students and the business community, greatly enhancing the functionality of downtown Brampton.
Initiatives on the East Coast: Greenwood Eco-Park, BIOCOMM and Trail Development
From Prince Edward Island to Nova Scotia, three projects are presented at MIPIM 2015.
The City of Summerside which attend MIPIM for its second year presents the Eco Industrial Park. It will include: low impact development, promotion of bike and pedestrian travel, natural stormwater system, energy efficient building, industrial networking (synergy), solar orientation, wind ebergy storage, commection and partnership to nature.
The City of Charlottetown, is home to the proposed BIOCOMM Centre which will be Canada’s Bioscience Commercialization Catalyst, providing product development and commercialization facilities and technical and business support services.
The Town of Wolfville presents a rail and redevelopment Project. Wolfville is the fastest growing municipality in Nova Scotia with growth of 13.2% over the last five (5) years.
